Paul has served on the DRP Board since early 2024, and has been a resident of downtown Reno since he retired in 2021.  Paul had a 35-year career in law enforcement, retiring after 25 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service as an Assistant Director, and as the 36th Sergeant at Arms of the U.S. House of Representatives.  Paul is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., and Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles.
