6 best restaurants for large groups to eat in downtown Reno

When hanging out with a large group of friends, be it for a big celebration or just a night out, finding a restaurant capable of seating and serving all of you in a reasonable time frame can be an absolute nightmare. The ideal place for a large group of friends and family to dine together is large with big tables, has a quick and accommodating service and includes a reasonable amount of parking.

The Downtown Reno Partnership has put together a list of the ideal restaurants in downtown Reno where large groups can have a good time and enjoy great food.

The Silver Peak

This casual brewpub located on Sierra and First streetsis the perfect location for large groups of people to dine together. It has been brewing beer for 20 years and offers a wide selection of craft beers and wine with a solid menu of varying food choices.

The restaurant features an entire back room that can be filled to the brim with customers and is typically used for big events or celebrations. In addition to the large interior, The Silver Peak features one of the best patios in the downtown Reno area during warm months. The wide patio expands along Sierra Street and can be used by large parties for a dining experience right in the heart of downtown Reno.

This restaurant is also located right next to the Truckee River and the Century Riverside 12 movie theater, meaning customers can enjoy a meal before going to a movie, taking a walk alongside the river or heading to a nearby event. Customers can park in the Parking Gallery right above the restaurant and get their tickets validated by the restaurant after they dine.

Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

Customers can find this Japanese eatery inside of Harrah’s Reno Hotel and Casino. Ichiban is geared towards hosting larger groups of people due to how the experience is set up. Each table wraps around a large griddle and seats up to 12 customers. Customers can watch their entire meal cooked before their very eyes by a professional chef in an experience that’s entertaining and highly recommended for celebratory occasions.

Reservations are also a must if a group expects to enjoy this wonderful Japanese steakhouse. The food is always cooked to perfection by the staff. A large variety of meat including steak, chicken, shrimp and lobster is available. Groups dining here should expect to spend about two hours at the table, but the fantastic entertainment will ensure that guests will never want to leave.

Bertha Miranda’s

If Mexican food is your craving, there’s no better restaurant in downtown Reno for large groups to share a meal than at Bertha Miranda’s on Mill Street. This restaurant has been serving authentic Mexican food since 1984. Not only does this restaurant provide fresh and authentic Mexican food, but it also houses a cantina area where cocktails are served and live music is occasionally performed. Large groups can gather at Bertha Miranda’s to enjoy a live performance by a mariachi band and any combination of excellent Mexican cuisine.

Golden Flower

For large groups of people looking for a traditional Vietnamese meal, this restaurant located on Fifth Street is the place to go. The inside dining area is incredibly spacious and provides many long tables at which larger parties can eat. Golden Flower is also open until midnight daily, meaning it could be the perfect restaurant for a large group looking to grab a late meal after a night on the town. This Vietnamese restaurant is located right in the heart of downtown Reno and the service is fast and friendly. Parking is a bit limited so it’s preferable to carpool to the location or to park in one of the nearby parking garages. Metered parking is also available and is not enforced for those dining after 6 p.m. or on Sundays.

Noble Pie Parlor

Noble Pie pizza restaurant located in downtown Reno on Second Street will lead to an accessible and enjoyable experience for a large group of diners. In addition to some of the most delicious pizza and chicken wings downtown Reno has to offer, this Noble Pie location features a large amount of indoor seating. The pizza parlor features a large amount of vegan options and delicious pizzas such as the Wrangler, a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, jalapeno, pineapple, and horseradish cheese. There are few things better than eating delicious pizza and drinking tasty beer among friends on a night out. This is also an excellent restaurant to visit before enjoying a night on the town as it’s located right next to most of the area’s great bars.

Parking should be relatively easy as long as you carpool as there is plenty of street parking and an area across the street for customers. Noble Pie Parlor’s hours vary with it being open weekdays from 12 p.m. to late hours in the night and 10 a.m. to late on Saturday. The restaurant opens up at 10 a.m. on Sundays too but closes at 9 p.m.

The Depot Craft Brewery Distillery

Large groups interested in a casual lunch or dinner can find all they want at this gastropub on Fourth Street. The restaurant is located inside an old railway headquarters, giving it a bit of an interesting atmosphere. The restaurant is best known for its beer, something large groups of diners might find enjoyable. The Depot Craft Brewery Distillery also serves top-notch American pub food and is a relaxed environment for those looking to take it easy. The restaurant frequently has deals such as bottomless mimosas or happy hour. The main dining areas are decently sized and contains enough large tall tables downstairs and dining tables upstairs to adequately house larger groups of people. Outside seating and a small dining areas also available for seating or reservations. Parking is also easy with a small lot right behind the restaurant, although carpooling is always preferable to leave more spots open for other customers.
