Wild River Grille launches to-go menu with virtual dinner concert series Fridays and Saturdays

Wild River Grille, a restaurant in the heart of downtown Reno, is launching a new to-go menu and digital concert series titled “Band Together,” proceeds for which will support employees of the restaurant and local artists and musicians adversely affected by COVID-19.

Concerts will be performed by artists who normally play on the restaurant’s riverside patio, and those who purchase from the specialized to-go menu will be given digital access to the live stream. Concerts will take place Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning April 10.

“We’ve always looked to make the dining experience unique at Wild River Grille,” said owner Chuck Shapiro. “As our community continues to flatten the curve, we want to offer some variety in our patrons’ dine-at-home life. Band Together allows us to expand some operations to help our family of staffers and also start putting some of our local artists back to work.”

Friday will feature solo acoustic guitarist, Alex “Muddy” Smith. Performers for this Saturday will be the musical duo Tany Jane.

Those interested can place orders much like they would make reservations ahead of time during the week, but will only be allowed to pick items up between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Curbside pickup is available on Virginia Street. Final orders for Friday pick-up must be placed by 7 p.m. on Friday. Final orders for Saturday pick-up must be placed by 7 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to funds routed to Wild River Grille staff, proceeds will be routed to art partners Sierra Arts FoundationPioneer Center for the Performing Arts, the Brüka Theater and Artown.

This menu will include such items as filet mignon, plum chipotle salmon and wild mushroom ravioli. Food orders exceeding $75 will receive a 20% discount and all wine and beer is 40% off.  View the full special menu here

“It’s so important for everyone to maintain social distancing practices at this time,” Shapiro said. “Rest assured our team is following all safety protocols set forth by the WHO, CDC and our city and state officials and we encourage everyone to stay home for Nevada. But helping to support our community doesn’t have to stop. This is our way to show that our community can band together to help overcome this current dilemma.”

Wild River Grille is located at 17 S. Virginia Street. Further reservations can be made or orders can be placed by calling 775-284-7455 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily or by emailing info@wildrivergrille.com. For more information visit www.wildrivergrille.com.
