Second pop-up bulk food sale at the National Automobile Museum this Friday
Sysco, a global distributor of food products is bringing a second Retail Pop-Up Truck to Reno, arriving at the National Automobile Museum on June 19, a location dense with residents but sparse in grocery selection.
Using the same model as their appearance at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in May, the pop-up will allow customers to select from a new mix of food items from Sysco’s website before 2 p.m. on June 18. Customers can then drive directly up to the truck on Friday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., where orders will be placed directly into trunks or back seats without the need to leave their vehicles.
Option gives vulnerable populations opportunity to restock kitchens and pantries.
This Retail Pop-Up Truck is offering a wider array of items, including fruit and produce boxes, macaroni and cheese and hamburger patties. In advance of Father’s Day, boxes of steak (12 beef Porterhouse steaks), chicken and seafood are also available. Items are restaurant-quality and chosen to extend shelf lives of kitchens and pantries as layoffs and furloughs continue to be announced and budgets continue to tighten.
A complete list of products offered can be found at shopsacramento.sysco.com.
“We’ve learned these pop-up events are ideal for those residents who want or need to continue to maintain social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Sysco Sacramento president, Cindy L. Thomson. “We’re proud to offer a safe way for Reno and Sparks residents to obtain restaurant-quality food products and other hard-to-find items.”
Pop-Ups have been conducted across the country as part of Sysco’s efforts to support the food supply chain and help consumers get high-quality food and non-food items using a safe shopping experience.
