Love is in the air in Downtown Reno this Valentine’s Day. If you watch carefully, you can spot pedestrians slipping down their masks to sneak quick kisses along the River Walk. Window fronts are adding red, pink, and white to their color schemes. Pharmacy chocolate boxes are suddenly heart shaped instead of rectangular.

THE FOODIE

You’ve got great taste!

The good news is that Downtown Reno can become flavor town on Valentine’s Day. Start off with lunch at the Old Granite Street Eatery or the Thai Corner Café. After that you and your honey can make your way over to the Riverwalk to burn off some calories while taking in the sights. End your day with another great meal at the Wild River Grille. Check out their website for a special Valentine’s Day menu offered either dine-in or take out.

THE WINE SAMPLER

Everyone secretly wants Irish coffee for breakfast, and Valentine’s Day is your perfect excuse to kick back with all your favorite spiked beverages.

Start things off right with a morning mimosa, and throw in some strawberries (or substitute orange juice for strawberry juice) for more festive colors! Book in advance for the Crafted Palette’s Lovey Dovey Date Night class and enjoy a bottle of wine or two specialty cocktails while you and your partner paint. End the day at Pignic Pub & Patio with one (or two…or three…) of their signature cocktails and great atmosphere.

THE NIGHT OWL

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than under the stars?

As a Night Owl, we know you don’t want to get up until well after noon, so treat yourself to breakfast (or lunch) in bed. Once you’ve managed to caffeinate away your grogginess, make your way to the Circus Circus Carnival Midway, open all evening! If you start to get thirsty, head down Sierra Street to The Office Bar & Lounge. End your night by the Truckee River with a view of the night sky.

THE PAMPERED PRINCESS

You like the finer things in life, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to raise the bar.

We know you’ll spend the morning getting ready but carve out some time to head over to the BBM Lounge in The Basement to get your nails taken care of. (You can even bring along your partner for a couple’s nail care package!)

Once you’re looking polished and rosy, take some time to walk Downtown for a photoshoot with the art and architecture (we suggest a classic Reno Arch picture). End the day with your favorite thing—room service! The Whitney Peak Hotel is offering a Retreat to Romance Package complete with champagne, chocolates and roses.

THE ARTSY INTROVERT

They say two’s a party, but there’s a pandemic going on!

And nobody ever said that Valentine’s Day has to be a couple’s game. Take yourself on a date or bring a few of your single friends along for the day! Start off at Sundance Bookstore to find the perfect book or vinyl to keep you company—if you’d rather not go out, you can order online for pickup.

For the afternoon, book a ticket in advance for the Nevada Museum of Art. Swing by Pigeon Head Brewery at the end of the day to take advantage of their 25% off beer to-go on Sundays!

THE HOPELESS ROMANTIC

Valentine’s Day is your day!

Cater to your classic taste by starting off the day with a beautiful flower delivery from Bumblebee Blooms Flower Boutique (be sure to order in advance, they sell out fast!). Consider straying from the beaten path by ordering red tulips instead of roses—they’re often associated with true love.

You might have a hankering for chocolate come afternoon, so make your own chocolate truffles with your partner. Then, make your way to Liberty Food & Wine Exchange for an enchanting meal, and take an evening stroll down the Riverwalk. Don’t forget to kiss your sweetheart over every bridge you cross!
