City of Reno and Downtown Reno Partnership Reveal New Rolling Recreation Trailer
The City of Reno, in partnership with the Downtown Reno Partnership (DRP) is proud to unveil its newest Rolling Recreation trailer, a dynamic mobile activation unit designed to engage residents, families, and visitors through free recreation programming throughout downtown Reno. The public and media are invited to the official unveiling on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Locomotion Plaza.
The new trailer launch comes on the heels of a major recognition: the City of Reno Parks and Recreation Department recently received the Program Excellence Award from the Nevada Recreation and Park Society (NRPS) for the Rolling Recreation initiative. The award celebrates the program’s innovative, community-driven approach and its proven impact on reducing crime in downtown Reno while building safer, more connected neighborhoods.
“Rolling Recreation is a creative and effective way to bring people together and make our Biggest Little City even more vibrant,” said Vice Mayor Taylor. “We’re proud to partner with the Downtown Reno Partnership to expand our presence downtown and make recreation more accessible to everyone.”
The new trailer purchase was made possible through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, reinforcing the City’s commitment to vibrant public spaces and equitable access to recreational opportunities. Featuring a bold, custom-designed wrap, the co-branded trailer is supported by a three-year sponsorship from the DRP.

The activations will occur in a mix of public and private spaces, including businesses that contribute to the Downtown Reno Business Improvement District (BID), as well as open spaces and local parks. The goal is to draw more people downtown, strengthen community bonds, and support the local economy by benefiting residents, small businesses, and visitors alike.
“We see this as an investment in Reno’s future,” said Neoma Jardon, Executive Director of the Downtown Reno Partnership. “By supporting Rolling Recreation, we’re bringing positive energy into our downtown spaces, helping local businesses thrive, and giving people more reasons to explore and enjoy all that downtown has to offer.”
