The Jesse, a new boutique inn, bar and restaurant, plans to open spring of 2019 in the former Lincoln Lounge bar and apartment building in downtown Reno at 360 E. Fourth St.

Previous owners Justin Owen and Ryan Gold listed the mixed-use property for sale in 2017. New owner, Dapper Companies – a brokerage and commercial real estate firm out of Las Vegas – bought the bar, inn and backyard for $1.35 million, according to Washoe County records, just a little under the original listing price. The Downtown Reno Partnership is excited to welcome this new business to the newly named Reno Brewery District on East Fourth Street.

Renovations are underway to create six rooms out of the previous two apartments units that started as 10 rooms when the building was a motel. Stremmel, with the help of Studio BBA, plans to recreate “historical flair, set in an intimate ambiance” for business and leisure travelers seeking experiences in art, design and cuisine, according to a press release.

In addition to the six rooms, The Jesse will also include a bar and patio lounge with a cocktail menu, natural and organic wines and locally crafted beers, along with a taco shop and mezcal bar set to open early summer of 2019.

“Growing up in Reno, I was always intrigued by Fourth Street because of its history and its raw, urban vibe,” Piper Stremmel, founder of The Jesse, said in a press release. “After building on my career in the hospitality industry, traveling and exploring cities with alternative styles of lodging, I knew I wanted to create a different type of accommodation here in Reno. I love this building and the location and I’m excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the Fourth Street experience and the businesses that have already made such a large impact on downtown Reno.”

Construction is in progress, and The Jesse is planning to open the inn and bar in the spring of 2019, with the patio, taco shop and mezcal bar to follow in the summer of 2019. For more information visit thejessereno.com.

Correction: The owner of the building was corrected to reflect Dapper Companies. Piper Stremmel owns The Jesse Hotel and Bar business.
