Paw-fect places to bring your dog in downtown Reno
Leaving your home to go out may make you feel guilty when you see those sad “puppy dog eyes.” Finding restaurants or bars that are dog-friendly and welcoming can be difficult, but we thought why do dogs have to miss out on all the fun?
The Downtown Reno Partnership has compiled a list of “paw-fect” places in downtown that both you and your pup will love.
Wild River Grille
Bring your pup out for a doggy date night at Wild River Grille located on the Riverwalk District in downtown Reno. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., take advantage of the sunny days for lunch outside on the patio or the warm nights for dinner under bistro lights.
Not only do you get to sip hand-crafted cocktails and eat along the Truckee River with your best friend, but you also get to hear live music. Wild River Grille features local musicians every night through the end of September on the patio as part of their 2019 Dinner Summer Concert Series.
The restaurant is also hosting a summer-long event called Dinner with Your Dog every Monday. Take your dog out to eat on Mondays and 10% of the check from every entrée will be donated to the Shakespeare Animal Fund. The SAF is a nonprofit organization that assists and supports pet owners who cannot afford emergency medical bills for their loved animals.
Pignic Pub & Patio
The Downtown Reno Partnership recently featured Pignic Pub & Patio in our 8 new must-visit hot spots in downtown Reno article, but we did not mention they are also dog-friendly. They might even prefer pups over people.
Pignic Pub & Patio will treat your dog like their own. Normally, they give dog treats to the well-behaved or extra crispy bacon made for Bloody Marys. Pignic also has a few water bowls for dogs to drink while you sip your beverage of choice.
With plenty of seating inside and outside on the deck, there is no excuse to not bring your pooch along to Pignic.
Sabrina’s West Street Kitchen
You are surely missing out if you have not dined at Sabrina’s West Street Kitchen in the West Street Market. Sabrina’s is a family owned and operated restaurant that focuses on serving fresh, clean and delicious food.
Additionally, Sabrina’s only accepts cash for payments. There is an ATM conveniently inside the restaurant if you forget your dollar bills.
The quaint restaurant has indoor seating and an outdoor patio where people can enjoy a tasty meal outside with their pups. Even better, Sabrina’s will offer a refreshing bowl of water and sometimes little strips of chicken for the good puppers, doggos, floofers and woofers.
The menu includes a variety of foods across the spectrum from gourmet salads and hot grilled sandwiches to nachos or quesadillas. We highly recommend the Trés Tacos. The portion sizes are on the bigger side, so, come hungry and get ready to dig in with your dog.
Ole Bridge Pub
In need of a drinking partner? Just take your furry companion to overlook the Truckee River on Ole Bridge Pub’s elevated outdoor patio where both an owner and their dog can enjoy the pub’s scenic view and warm atmosphere. Additionally, the patio is shared with Campo and Smee’s who will allow dogs outside as well.
Ole Bridge Pub occasionally has dog treats at hand for pups to snack on with a complimentary bowl of water. As for humans, the bar offers specialty draft beers, big bottle beers and a wide selection of wine and super premium well.
This is the hotspot for happy hour with deals like two dollars off drafts and three dollars tacked off well and house wines from noon to 5 p.m.
