Valentine’s Day gift and date ideas in Downtown Reno

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the yearly stress of what to buy your special someone lingers in the air. If you haven’t thought about it yet or are at a loss for what to do, look no further than your local community. Downtown Reno is home to businesses that provide great treats, gifts and activities to impress and entertain your significant other, friends or yourself.  

Wild River Grille

For a great view, Wild River Grille is a restaurant located on the Riverwalk in Downtown Reno. The establishment offers a full bar, patio, and indoor dining in the River Room. This Valentine’s Day, Wild River Grille is offering an exclusive five-course gourmet dinner menu that comes with a complimentary glass of champagne and rosé. Their Valentine’s Day menu will take you through all stages of romance for $165 dollars plus tax and gratuity. Seating starts at 4 p.m. till 10 p.m., reservations recommended. 

Churrasco Brazilian SteakHouse

Churrasco Brazilian SteakHouse is serving their signature “all you can eat” Rodízio style dining experience for the week of Valentine’s Day with lunch and dinner on February 11 through the 14. Available for reservations.

Pineapple Pedicabs

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a romantic dinner in a dimly lit restaurant. This year local Pineapple Pedicabs is celebrating all types of love with “A ‘Date’ night out” tour of the town. This ‘date’ includes a cocktail, fine dining at Café Whitney and tickets to see one of two shows, all while being transported through Downtown Reno and the River Walk on a pedicab. The two show options include #millenial or Magique at The Theatre. Add ons, such as chocolate covered strawberries, roses or an exclusive pedicab rate for a stay at Whitney Peak, are available as well. 

THE ROW 

Over at THE ROW, restaurants La Strada and Roxy, located inside the Eldorado Resort Casino, are also having their own Valentine’s Day special menus. Roxy, voted “Best Place to Take a Date” by locals, offers the perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner. Roxy’s three-course Valentine’s Menu starts at $70 a guest, $100 per guest with a wine pairing. La Strada is known for its authentic Italian experience, and that’s exactly what their Valentine’s Day menu will give you. 

Washoe Public House

For another restaurant, Washoe Public House has a Valentine’s Day menu consisting of a three-course meal with a bottle of Josh Family Pinot Noir all for $120 a couple. Reservations are strongly recommended.

The Refuge 

If the new year has been reason for some rest and relaxation, Downtown Reno’s The Refuge Spa, located in the Renaissance Hotel. Now till the end of February, they are offering complimentary upgrades to their $80 couples massages when you purchase a $400 gift card. Upgrades for the couples massages include a deep tissue massage, hot stones, sugar foot scrub, a scalp and hair treatment, or choice of a Black Rock mud or CBD facial. The treatments will include chocolate covered strawberries, full access to amenities the day of your treatment and a complimentary float coupon for The Float sensory experience. 

Home Means Nevada Co.

If you’re looking for something for the platonic love of your life, Downtown Reno has plenty of options. Home Means Nevada Co. has an assortment of Nevada inspired shirts, cups, stickers and more, and only on February 14th they are offering a free gift and sticker or decal with any purchase. 

Vida Coffee

Coffee dates are equally as enjoyable as a dinner date. If you are looking for a fun new place to try, Vida Coffee in The Basement in Downtown Reno has a Valentine’s Day special. Stop by and try their Chocolate Covered Strawberry drink, available as a latte or a cloud topped cold brew. They describe it as “think of a chocolate strawberry milkshake.” 

Wink Lash Studio

For all those who are single or can’t be with loved ones this Valentine’s Day, don’t underestimate the value of self-care to make your day just as special. Wink Lash Studio and Bath Bar in Downtown Reno have beautiful displays of candles, bath products and more, to help relax and recharge.

NØRDIK 

NØRDIK is a sustainable Scandinavian Home and Life design store located in Downtown Reno’s The Basement. This Valentine’s Day they have partnered with Marimekko to create the limited edition LOKKI PERGOLA mug set “to honor the special bond that makes true companions greater than the sum of their parts.” 

Bumblebee Blooms 

Sticking to the classics? Flowers are a solid Valentine’s Day staple, and Bumblebee Blooms has Valentine’s Bouquets available for order. Their “Deal of the Day” option allows you to order a bouquet and add on an extra gift on. Options range from chocolates, wine, soaps, teas, candles and more. Bumblebee Blooms also has gift boxes and baskets that range from wine and flowers to snacks. To assure your order is ready for Valentine’s Day, it is recommended to order at least 3 days in advance.

Hömage 

Hömage bakery in Downtown Reno has a limited-edition Valentine’s Day menu with elegant desserts that are available for pre-order. 

Nevada Sunset Winery

This Valentine’s Day, Nevada Sunset Winery has a few options to choose from, starting with a bottle of wine and bon bons for a romantic evening. If you need some alone time, they also have a wine and romance novel option. Their tasting room is open from 3 – 7:30 p.m. every Thursday through Saturday.
