Downtown Reno Update Summer 2025: Events, Infrastructure and More!

As a way to collect events and updates for things in Downtown Reno for the summer of 2025, we have complied this list for an easy reference point. Note: what is included are events, updates etc. that take place in our Downtown Reno Business Improvement District 110-block boundaries.

Keep up with events in Downtown Reno on our event calendar. 

Events:

  • Rollin’ Reno Roller Skating. Weekly Wednesday – Sunday at Believe Plaza through August 9. Food, drinks, theme nights. FREE. $5 if skate rentals are needed.
  • Biggest Little City Wing Fest. July 25-26 (1-10 p.m. & Noon to 10 p.m.) Virginia Street hosted by the Eldorado, Circus Circus and Silver Legacy.
  • Off the Rails Summer Concert Series. June 27, July 18, August 29. 7-10 p.m. Locomotion Plaza. Hosted by Off Beat Music and the City of Reno.
  • Reno Antique Faire. Virginia Street. 3rd Sunday of each month through October. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hosted by Reno Antique Faire and City of Reno.
  • Harmony on the River. West Street Plaza. Weekly Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. through August. Music from the Reno Phil. Hosted by the Reno Phil and City of Reno.
  • House by the River. West Street Plaza. Weekly Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. through August. Hosted by Biggest Little Tribe and City of Reno. Electronic dance music, food, drinks.
  • Reno Aces Games. Greater Nevada Field. Various dates now through end of October.
  • Flicks on the Bricks. West Street Plaza. First Friday of each month August – October. 7-10 p.m. Hosted by Cordillera International Film Festival.
  • Artown Alebrije. South Virginia and the Truckee River. July 1 -31.
  • Dancing on the River. 1st Saturday of the month through August. Believe Plaza. 6-10 p.m. Hosted by High Sierra Entrainment and the City of Reno.
  • Riverwalk Wine Walks. Year Round. 3rd Saturday of each month. 2-5 p.m. Hosted by the Riverwalk District.
  • Glow Plaza and Festival Grounds events. Various dates and artists. J Resort. 

Infrastructure updates:

  • New curb paint throughout the district.
  • 100 new planters being installed on Virginia Street.
  • 194 new Big Belly trash cans and wraps have been deployed and wraps are being installed. Doubles the number of cans previously in the district.
  • New paint on the riverwalk moving from the maroon color to black.
  • New dog waste bag stations along Virginia Street.
  • Arlington Bridge project led by RTC to be completed in the summer of 2026.

Revamped Spaces:

  • New revamped space at West Street Plaza on West Street. New space includes a variety of upgrades including a new mural created by artist Anthony Ortega, interactive seating pieces called “Pebbles,” and new furniture encompassing bistro tables, chairs, shade umbrellas, and lounge chairs.
  • New revamped space at Locomotion Plaza on Virginia Street. New space includes: six multi-functional shipping container buildings; lighting, electrical, and fencing upgrades; and new furniture and shade umbrellas.
  • UNR Business Building slated to open in time for the Fall 2025 semester located on University between 8th and 9th Streets.
  • A new plan and developer for the former Harrah’s Property (called Revival) located on Virginia Street.
