6 best places to eat a vegan meal in downtown Reno

A good vegan meal can be very hard to find with the scarcity of fully vegan restaurants nationwide. However, a restaurant doesn’t need to be fully vegan to be able to provide a delicious vegan meal that meets dietary needs.

The Downtown Reno Partnership has made a list of some of the best restaurants in the downtown Reno area for vegan diners. In no particular order, here are six of the best places to eat vegan:

Liberty Food and Wine Exchange

This neighborhood eatery located on Sierra Street serves plenty of vegan options. All of the gourmet food prepared at Liberty Food and Wine Exchange is locally sourced. As the name suggests, there’s also a wide selection of flavorful wines and creative cocktails. One of the most popular vegan dishes is the veggie burger, which is a cheeseburger made fully vegan with a vegan patty and vegan cheese. For dessert, look no further than the vegan chocolate cake, an excellent dish that pairs well with any red wine selection.

The average meal costs about $15 to $20 per person. Liberty Food and Wine Exchange is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Friday and Saturday, when the restaurant stays open until 10 p.m.

Sushi Lover

Fans of sushi who are also looking to enjoy a vegan meal can find all they want at this modest sushi eatery on Fifth Street. Sushi Lover is easily one of the best places to get vegan sushi with 40 different vegan sushi rolls offered. The restaurant also makes sure to stay creative and innovative with their rolls, including a Fuji apple roll on their menu. Even non-vegans will enjoy these vegan rolls, although there are plenty of other options for non-vegans as well.

Sushi Lover is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Saturdays and Sundays when it opens at noon.

This restaurant also sources most of its ingredients from local farmers and every item on the menu is certified organic. People can dine inside or outside. The DeLuxe has a wide range of vegan foods while also offering some non-vegan options so make sure to bring your friends even if they aren’t vegan themselves.

Their vegan pizza is made with Miyoko’s cheese, real cheese made without the use of cows. This should be your first stop for delicious pizza that still fits in with a vegan diet.
