The Downtown Reno Partnership is encouraging responsible pet ownership with its “Pick Up After Your Pup” campaign.
Neoma Jardon, Executive Director of the Downtown Reno Partnership, and Assistant Executive Director Kristen Saibini sat down with ARC Reno Tuesday morning to discuss the campaign, which aims to improve neighborhood cleanliness, protect public health, and create a more welcoming downtown by reminding dog owners to clean up after their pets.
Organizers say there are nearly 200 public trash cans throughout downtown, along with dog waste bag dispensers on Virginia Street and the Riverwalk, making disposal easy.
Washoe County law requires pet owners to immediately remove pet waste from public and private property, with fines of up to $500 for violations.
